Suds and Sandals at Coastal Arts Market

Hi, my name is Dottie; I am the owner of “Suds and Sandals”.
I’ve been doing crafts since I was in my  early 20s when a friend taught me how to crochet. Well, that was the start of it all. Since then I have taught myself to knit and have taught myself many crochet stitches and learned how to read patterns. I also sew and have made all my grandkids their costume when they were little. I started making jewelry and that’s what started me in the craft shows. I’ve painted ceramics, quilling, and other various crafts. When I retired from Target I started doing craft shows. At my first craft show I sold for $8.45. That was so disappointing. But I didn’t let that sway me. I really wanted to sell my stuff. My husband started making soaps and joined me at the shows. Today I make soaps, lotions, lip balms, facial cleansers, etc. I make flea and tick spray and bug off for mosquitos. I make various ornaments and love the challenge it brings to come up with new projects. I love making all different kinds of crafts. If it can be done I’ll give it a try.
